Mantra French Quarter Tower of Doom

On December 27th, 2023 after being trapped for over 24hrs at #Mantra #noosa due to a broken lift and no evacuation plan for the disabled or less mobile I escaped the #towerofdoom my style (and only way possible as management offered NO OTHER solution).

It is truly not acceptable for a hotel to:

A: Put someone in a wheelchair on top floor with only one miniature lift to access especially when they have pre advised requirements weeks in advance.

I did alert on check in my concern but management on site advised they couldn't move us to a ground floor room as that was considered an upgrade.

B: Leave them trapped for 50% of their 'holiday' to watch others swim in a pool and offer no option to move to beach facing room on same floor.

Luckily mother nature put on amazing #lightning show that evening for us instead

C: Not provide food, coffee or other supplies whilst trapped (actually provided full cream coffee instead of soy despite me explaining having annaphylaxis to many foods and a few bottles of water). Management literally gave us a link to recommendations from #TripAdvisor for food.

D: They did not assist us with our luggage or electric chair down stairs (they actually locked us out of room then destroyed my electric chair and dropped a brand new #segway scooter.

Think these videos shot by one of my fellow inmates - my partners 14yr old show my #evacuation plan well. It was painful, caused a lot of bruises and additional pain to an already broken wrist but got me out....unlike Mantra management could. Maybe they should buy an #evacuationchair ?

We where never offered any other solution to get down despite requesting - even rang fire brigade within seconds of realising I was trapped due to the stress it placed on my heart.

I was never alerted by staff when lift broke. Instead I spent 4 hours preparing for my first touch of my old #local beach (or any) in 1year. It was the sign that broke my heart....literally.

But in the end was only 2hrs late to pick up this guy. Poor breeder had been waiting in #tiaro with 3yr old after driving 3hrs. There's not much reception in those parts.
